Corporate Sales Trainer

The Opportunity:
The Sales Trainer ensures that each sales associate’s performance contributes to the business goals of the company. The Sales Trainer designs, delivers and administers consultative sales training. The Sales Trainer will also develop sales processes for Onvia’s gBusiness solutions.

Core Deliverables and Responsibilities:

  • Drives sales associates’ performance through training, scripting, and coaching; pursues performance areas that directly support the company’s bottom line
  • Conducts needs analyses; identifies, acquires, and/or develops appropriate training materials; and conducts training on the group and individual level
  • Designs, develops, and conducts new-hire training program and refresher training seminars
  • Will work with the Sales Managers for sales scripting, maintaining a finger on the pulse of our prospects and clients and revising scripting whenever needed to keep pace with dynamic market conditions
  • Ensures the effectiveness, quality, and integrity of our sales processes by teaming with the Director of Sales, Marketing and Product Teams
  • Coordinates monitoring of sales associates with management team to identify training needs for use in one-on-one training
  • Works with the sales management teams in identifying sales associates who have specific training needs, developing individualized training programs for those consultants, and tracking their performance
  • Makes recommendations to the sales management team when associates should be placed on a formal action plan, transferred to another functional area of the department, or terminated based on sales performance

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Proven success as a formal trainer; Minimum of four years experience designing, delivering and evaluating training programs in a consultative sales environment a must
  • Minimum two years experience training to a business to government sales force experience
  • Four years experience – both as a sales professional and a trainer for inbound and outbound sales reps
  • Experience with Capture Management practices highly desirable
  • Experience training business management and sales management skills
  • Enthusiasm, passion, energy, and exuberance to energize and motivate a large group of experienced and talented sales professionals
  • Passion for excellence in sales skills and quality customer service. Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • BA/BS or relevant experience required
