Communications Provider Identifies 70% More Government Requests for Proposals with Onvia

As a leading provider of comprehensive enterprise mass communication systems, Everbridge (formally 3n Global) allows corporations, government agencies, non-profits and schools to rapidly communicate in routine, urgent and emergency situations. Their government-related business, which includes schools, comprises 25% of their revenue. Because a quarter of the company's revenue is tied to government-related business, Everbridge called for a reliable way to get immediate access to new requests for proposals and award data as part of their plan to drive more government sales revenue. Although Everbridge utilized government opportunity notification services other than Onvia, they still felt that some requests for proposals were slipping through the cracks. In addition, Everbridge needed a way to keep track of their competition and get immediate insight into all the new requests for proposals that specify their products and solutions.

Before using Onvia, Everbridge relied on multiple search engines to track down requests for proposals that matched the company's services; however, they felt that they didn't have clear visibility into every request for proposals that would apply to their business. Everbridge now relies on Onvia to identify new requests for proposals and to ensure that no projects slip through the cracks. Robert Hernandez, Proposal Writer with Everbridge, says, "We have used other services to notify us about RFPs... but Onvia's is far more superior." Hernandez also uses Onvia to create shortlists of 1-2 ideal vendors, allowing Everbridge to build their own targeted marketing and sales campaigns. "I also use Onvia's award data to see who won the bid; this way we can track our competition", says Hernandez. Award data allows Everbridge to see who won the contract and the winning amount, helping Hernandez to write more calculated RFP responses.

Hernandez points out a particular response to a request for proposals that landed Everbridge one of their highest grossing contracts, saying, "Onvia notified us about a school district contract, which we won – it is the second largest school district in South Carolina." Landing this particular contract award was momentous for Everbridge – and through Onvia, they found out about the request for proposals. "Onvia has allowed us to identify 70% more RFPs", Hernandez says.

For many of Onvia's clients, notification of new bids and requests for proposals is a top priority, Everbridge included. In addition to the RFP notifications, Everbridge values how Onvia has delivered the data needed to keep track of the competition, build targeted shortlists, and establish a sense of confidence that they are tapping into all the right requests for proposals.
